The Old D&H Railroad shop on Tibbitts Ave. Caught fire last night
As you can imagine. It was a total loss.
I remember playing in there when I was a kid. So many memories. there used to be a tower next to the building which housed pigeons. We always played that it was a castle and my friends and I were Knights going to defeat the Dragon.
It will be missed.

Blast From The Past
Found my old Scrapbook a few days ago and found some of the pics from my Rhythm and Blues Brothers days. Thought I would post them here.
This is an AD from when we played at Billy's in Troy back in the 80's

It's WHAT??????
Started a new medication yesterday that should help my weight and diabetes. It's called Byetta, It's an inject-able pen that doses 5 mg and needs to be taken around 15-30 minutes BEFORE a meal twice a day. I thought sure, I'll try it, anything to help me lose weight.
I looked up the drug and found out that it is synthetic Gila Monster spit!!!(I kid you not!) Hopefully it works and I won't turn into any weird creature, but who knows???? Will keep you updated.

Halloween and the Graveyard
Another Halloween has come and gone and with it, another Haunted Graveyard in our back yard. Despite the rain this year, many of the neighborhood children came to see the work that my wife, Jake and myself had put into the display. Last year, after all the hard work, it rained the entire time and only one group of kids saw the exhibit the next day.
Our 4 year old daughter really had a fun time with the exhibit, she wanted to touch everything and nothing scared her. Unfortunately, she quickly went on sensory overload and we had to severely cut her back on the time in the yard. Hopefully next year she will be able to be more of a help with the setup and execution of the exhibit.
Here are the pics of our Graveyard.

Rocky Again
Once more we went to see TRHPS with the same people performing as was in my last blog. Again, it was a memorable experience. Though we waited past the midnight showtime for the movie to begin (probably because though it was a sold out show. Some of the seats did not get filled so the SRO people were able to sit for the show.), it was worth the wait. The show that the Outskirts performed before the main feature was short but funny. There might have been more, but time constraints wouldn't allow it.
Once again, the actors added to the performance, not hindered. The audience played along with the performers and were allowed to shout their lines at the screen and were able to be heard by all. (Water pistols were not allowed, probably due to the fact that with the close quarters of the venue, safety was a prime concern.) Some (ahem) added features were added to this performance that was not in the previous performance at The Palace. The woman who played Columbia did do a scene topless, which may not be appropriate for the younger age group. However, the show is on a midnight and it is a movie about an alien transvestite making a man to have sex with, so adult things will happen.
All in all, this is a show that I can't wait to see again next year, and all the people who went with me and my wife this time had a great time too. Bravo Ouskirts for a job well done!!
